Led and meticulously curated by Gary Aspden, the next installment from the adidas SPEZIAL team, Pre Spring 2024, is on the verge of its debut.
Now celebrating its 10th year, the biannual SPZL collections continue to soar in popularity, seemingly attracting a much broader demographic with each release. Still regarded as essential for the ‘terrace’ and ‘adidas collectors,’ the SPZL appeal now extends far beyond just that, captivating a much more diverse audience.

SPZL FOOTWEAR Pre Spring 2024
The footwear features seven unique silhouettes.
Handball Pro SPZL – Inspired from a vintage pair of Made in Germany handball shoes from Gary Aspden’s personal collection which were not readily available on the market.
Wensley SPZL – Last seen in SPZL 2017, the Wensley SPZL silhouette is back with a subtle few tweaks. Originally modelled on an adidas fencing shoe, the Wensley SPZL 24 edition is now complete with a padded tongue for improved comfort and now has adidas SPZL branding on the tongue which was omitted on previous versions.
Gazelle SPZL – Following the success of the recent Gazelle SPZL from 2023, they now make an appearance in a Triple Black colourway and a Cream / Off White iteration.
Whitworth SPZL – A new silhouette for SPZL. A wearable modern runner, taking inspiration from various adidas archive models, such as the Quesence, Clipper and Treziod.
adilette SPZL Slider – Black – previously launched in Navy and White, the adilette returns for 2024 in a Black and White version.
Moston Super SPZL – Inspired by various adidas archive models, such as the Country OG, Japanese Berlin and a pair of vintage adidas Artic owned by @diggerdas2 which featured in the 2023 SPZL exhibition.

The Apparel collection, as always features a wide array of options.
Headlining the collection, sees the return of the hugely popular Todmorden SPZL Smock jacket. It first debuted in 2021 in the iconic red. And now it’s back in White and in Navy.
